AFC South Expectations

We now move to the AFC South:

  • Houston Texans

With Stefon Diggs's acquisition, CJ Stroud and the rest of the Texans' offense should take their game to another level. CJ Stroud finished the 2023 season with 23 TDs and 5 Int and won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. Unless Stroud has a sophomore slump, there is no reason to believe that this team will have a good season in 2024. I expect them to win the division.

  • Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars had a very disappointing 2023 season as they started the season 8-3 and ended the season 9-8 and missed the postseason. With all the hype that came with the team with the way they finished the 2022 season, it was certainly a letdown this past season and Trevor Lawrence was a big part of the letdown as he finished the season with 21 TDs and 14 Ints before getting hurt in week 13 which was a big step back from what he did the season prior where he threw 25 TDs and 8 Ints. I expect the Jags to be second in the division and have a decent year assuming Lawrence is healthy but I am not convinced yet that he is franchise QB material which is why I have them finishing second in the division

  • Indianapolis Colts

Anthony Richardson showed some promise in his rookie season but his play style led him to take too many hits which, as a result, had him miss most of the season last year because of an injury. If he can learn to brace himself while taking hits and be willing to slide, I truly believe he can be a dynamic player but he has to prove to the football world he can keep himself healthy so as of now they are 3rd in the division in my prediction but their ceiling his certainly a 1st place finish.

  • Tennessee Titans

The main reason I have this team finishing last is because the teams above are more equipped to win now and this team is gearing up more toward the future. Will Levis showed some promise last year but looked very raw at times Titans fans are hoping to see his improvement and he seemed to be the QB last year that got Hopkins involved regularly in the offense. The team as a whole is still a ways away from real contention but Levis should give Titan fans something to look forward to for each game. Also who knows, maybe this team can be what Houston was last year grow up very fast, and be a part of the playoff race. I don't see this being the case so I'll say they finish last for now.
