Bigger Than Football

Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion on Thursday and it was sad to see him laying on the turf once again looking out of his senses. He suffered a similar injury 2 years ago early in the season and both times it looked very severe. I don't want to speak more about the injuries but I think it is a real question for Tua whether he should retire or not. Is it worth losing years off of your life for a game? I get that this is his dream and he has been living it for the last 5 years but he also has a family back at home to take care of and if he continues to sustain severe head injuries like this, his life span won't be that long. Mike McDaniel put it best, he said "he's the starting quarterback of his family". Once he understands all the risks and still decides he wants to play, we have to honor that as well. I just hope he's happy with whatever decision he makes.
