Round 21: In 2 minutes or less

Time strapped? Still wanting to remain up to date on the footy? Looking for something quick to read during smoko? Congratulations, you've found it. Bear with me for 2 minutes as I recap the incredible round that was and update you on the finals race. Lets go!

We begin with Footscray who stamp their new found authority with a statement 50 point win over the lacklustre Dees who now are pretty much out of the finals race. The Bont has another big game for his club, and could be moving towards his first Brownlow medal. On this Friday night double header, the Suns join the Demons in becoming out of the finals race with a 10 point loss to the improving West Coast Eagles. Moving to Saturday we witness the popular Wooden Spoon cup where Richmond lost to the also improving Kangaroo's by 13 points, which is likely the Tigers first wooden spoon since 2007 barring a miracle win or two in the final rounds. Geelong get over the line by 5 points against a spirited Adelaide Crows. After a midseason stumble Geelong are 5th and fighting for a top 4 position. Two heated rivals, a heated game. Collingwood get over the line against Carlton thanks to a miss after the siren by Mitch McGovern which gifted Collingwood the win for Pendles 400th, and keeps their small finals hopes alive. The bad news is they will keep fighting for finals without Jordan De Goey who is out for the year with a Hamstring. Carlton are in real danger now in 8th. The possible surprise of the year. Sydney are 1st on the ladder. Port Adelaide won by not 1, not 2 points but 112 points. Just pure insanity, If this form continues for the Swans they could drop all the way to 7th or 8th and possibly even miss the finals dare I say it. Port Adelaide have their statement win and can now be considered a serious contender. Up to Sunday now and GWS found themselves down by as much as 20 points before turning it all around to win by 2 points against not so FlagHok. The entertaining hawks finals hopes are now in disarray. The 3.20pm game was another thriller. Essendon had their backs to the wall, and Freo seemed in control of the game. A 4th quarter flurry gave the bombers a win by the smallest of margins, 1 point. This keeps their season alive and is a spanner to the works for the Dockers who regardless win the best jersey of the round with their piece of Retro brilliance. Finally with the last game of the round the Lions well and truly establish themselves as the premiership favourites with a 85 point thrashing of the Saints. What a spectacle this round was!

And that is everything for the round 21 recap in 2 minutes or less. I will be back on Thursday night with a preview to a mouth-watering round 22! Like the post if you would enjoy to see more content like this. Thanks for stopping by!
